No, folks, I’m not getting married yet. But a close friend is.
On June 12, an officemate will be tying the knot with her longtime boyfriend. When I say longtime, I mean like 8 years. Their love story is terribly complicated but it’s nice that after all the crap in their lives, it’s them at the end of the day.
We’ll be going to Bicol on June 11 for their wedding on June 12. I’m really nervous for that day because it’s the first time in a long time that I’ll be able to see a wedding once more. The last time I got to attend a wedding was like 10 years ago or so. That was my cousin’s wedding. I had no inkling concern for whatever was happening around me. All I remember was that I hated my blue dress and loved Ate Claris’ wedding gown.
I know a lot about the wedding simply because May and I talk about it everyday. We scoured the internet and magazines for a wedding gown design that would work best for her. I helped her pick out the music that’s going to play when she walks into the church as well as one special song for the reception. I remember arguing with May about how she shouldn’t pick this specific song for the reception because it’s so overrated. I made her listen to another song and she loved it. I can be really pushy when it comes to music. I even prepared the script for the reception! Tomorrow I’ll bring her a necklace that hopefully she will wear on her wedding. She still needs the “something borrowed” bit and she was hoping that maybe I could play that role in her wedding.
I love that I have tons of participation in her wedding. Because of that, I somehow feel like it’s my wedding, you know? Oh my, I can’t wait ’til I’m the one who gets so stressed out because of wedding plans. I wonder when my time will be? Haha!
Anyway, May asked one thing from me. She asked me not to wear black. Haha! Now, what do I wear to the wedding?
