The Mile Hi Diner Brunch

Don’t shoot me in the head when I admit that our Saturday brunch at Mile Hi Diner Tagaytay was my first time EVER to dine there. Yeah, I used go to Tagaytay when I was in college just to have coffee yet I haven’t taken the time to eat at Mile Hi. Baaah. On another note, that is now a thing of the past. πŸ˜€

An empty Mile Hi Diner

We walked in the restaurant a little past noon, but the place was pretty much empty. Only one table was occupied then, a family enjoying their lunch al fresco. We also grabbed an al fresco table so we were able to take pictures of the empty main restaurant area.Β And with the lack of customers, service was fittingly quick. πŸ™‚

The yummy chili salsa + the nachos for kids (photo taken by Paolo Ramos)

We had the Chili n’ Cheese Nachos (Php155) to start our meal, which basically drew a frown on my face when it was served. I mean seriously, you serve us a plate of nachos with just six (seven at the most) pieces of chips?

It’s such a shame cause the salsa is a hit in my book! I even ate spoonfuls of the salsa–it was that good. Oh I do hope they add more nacho chips to go with that awesome salsa. πŸ™

Hawaiian Spare Ribs

I won’t normally order ribs or something but since most of the people in the group were either suffering from a headache or dead sleepy from staying up ’til the wee hours of the morning drinking and merry-making, we were on ravenous mode. We wanted to eat, eat and eat to drive the bad memories that alcohol left behind.

But I just had to get myself a heavy brunch, so I ordered the Hawaiian Spare Ribs (Php255). It may not look like much based on the picture above, but that slab of grilled pork was more than enough for me. I think I only ate half of that with rice and munched the remaining meat on its own. I could probably pair that spare ribs with two cups of rice. That, however, is another story if in case it stars a man. πŸ˜€

B's Beef Salpicao (Photo taken by Paolo Ramos)

Meanwhile, the boyfriend savored this plate of Beef Salpicao (Php295). He liked this plate a lot, while I thought the mushroom tasted funny. The beef itself was savory so I don’t know what’s wrong with the mushrooms. There was a bitter taste to it, which is unlike any other mushroom I’ve tasted.Β Hmm. Perhaps it was just my drunk tongue playing tricks on me. πŸ˜€

Ken's Mozzarella Stuffed Burger (Photo taken by Paolo Ramos)

The photo above is Ken’s order, which I had to share ’cause it looks so good. Now, this is what a real burger looks like *ehem South Diner*. Even the thick-cut fries will make you drool .

Rootbeer float! (Photo taken by Paolo Ramos)

This is completely irrelevant, but rootbeer float makes me really happy. Haha! πŸ™‚ It reminds me a lot of my childhood–A&W anyone? πŸ˜€ BUT this rootbeer float still pales in comparison to the classic A&W mug!

  • I am reminded of my favorite pub where they serve an awesome bowl of chili with THREE saltine crackers. It was so yummy but it was such a pity to eat it with a spoon. :\ Eventually my friends and I learned to sneak in bags of Tostillas and magic flakes hehehe.

    • Now I’m reminded of the Chili Soup I had at The Soup Kitchen a couple of weeks ago! There were three (or four) Tostillas on top too! πŸ˜€
