I know I’m a “little” late, but I couldn’t bear to watch the movie without reading the books. Although I’ve already heard about this trilogy even before talks of developing it into a movie surfaced, I didn’t bother to pick this up in a bookstore because I thought it would be a bit “childish” for my taste.
A week before the movie was due to come out in the Philippines, I trooped to Powerbooks to get myself a copy. Sadly, they ran out of stock. I didn’t bother checking out other bookstores in Makati because I thought that if Powerbooks don’t have them in stock, what more could you expect from NBS or Fully Booked? I’ve nothing against those bookstores though. It’s just me. Being lazy. And creating excuses. Lots of excuses. 😀
But look at the photo below!
I was at Alabang with the boyfriend when I excused myself to drop by The National Bookstore. And lo and behold, there were The Hunger Games books neatly stacked right by the entrance! I was on a budget that day (trying to lighten the load on my credit card!) so I couldn’t afford to pay for the entire set, and could only buy one book.
When the boyfriend crept up behind me and saw me grabbing one book, he asked why I wasn’t buying the entire set since it is indeed cheaper. I told him why and he said he’ll cover for me. Yay! So that is why, my dear curious heads, I now have the entire set–albeit randomly purchased. 🙂
Just so you know, they’re all safely covered in plastic just like my other books.
