Gelato Date at Bar Dolci

High Street may be the place to go for great eats, serious shopping and fabulous entertainment; but there is also Burgos Circle in Forbestown, for the folks who prefer a quieter (yet still upscale) atmosphere.

One of the coziest places there is Bar Dolci. It’s a gelateria that serves authentic gelato, macarons, sandwiches, scones, and more. The first time I visited this place, I was more concerned about trying their pretty macarons.

Gelato overload!
Gelato overload!

When I got the chance to walk in here again, I completely ignored the colorful macarons and fawned over the ice-cold gelato. It’s perfect for humid summer evenings. 🙂

Salted Caramel and French Vanilla
Salted Caramel for me and French Vanilla for the boyfriend.

Not knowing which to order, the boyfriend and I went for relatively safe flavors–Salted Caramel and French Vanilla. I remember loving their salted caramel macarons, hence the reason why I chose it — and eventually loved it. Yes, this flavor was divine! It even had brittle in it, which nicely contrasted the gelato’s smooth-as-silk consistency. The boyfriend’s choice, french vanilla, was just as good. It was a tamer flavor though and wasn’t as sweet as mine.

On that note, I have to warn you that I had to alternate between two spoonfuls of gelato and a gulp of water more than halfway toward finishing my medium cup. The sweetness got to my taste buds eventually. Nevertheless, I loved it! Maybe the smallest cup will do for me. 😛
