There’s this awesome new burger place in Greenbelt 2 that has every yuppie and family lining up outside it’s second-floor doors. Burger Bar, which you can easily miss because it’s located above another restaurant, is literally my new favorite burger hangout. It’s designed just like Army Navy and Yellow Cab–bare ceilings, no-fuss metal chairs, and tin cans as tissue and utensils holder. <3
I’ve already been here four times in a month before I blogged about it! That says a lot about how much I liked eating here. 😛 Of the three instances I ate here, I would definitely recommend coming in early to beat the dinner rush. Waiting for a table is such a pain! Although you completely forget about it once you’re settled and taking in the smell of burger patties being cooked! 😀
Considering they are called Burger Bar, all I ordered during those four visits were burgers. Their burger selection is divided into two: The Classics and The Tributes.
Here’s The Cheeseburger, a quarter-pounder with American cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and single quarter-pounder house blend all-beef patty with American cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and sauce no. 3.
A heart attack on a plate, the Cheeseburger doesn’t look like much but it’s truly very filling. It’s greasy alright, but not to the point that every bite will just slide down your throat. LOL. 😀 I appreciated the fact that all the components to the burger was neatly stacked as well. I definitely would recommend this for Burger Bar virgins, it’s tasty and a nice introduction into the awesomeness of their burgers. 🙂
They have a “lunchbox” option with every burger and they’re called Rated GP and Rated R18. For GP, just add Php85 to get a plate of Skinny Fries and soda. For R18, add Php105 for Skinny Fries and local beer or Php190 with imported beer. 🙂
My favourite burger (so far) on their menu is The Bleu. Perfect for blue cheese lovers, this heavenly display of blue cheese goodness (blue cheese sauce + blue cheese crumble) can come in two patties. But given my previous experience, I knew that single patty was more than enough to fill all my 5’1″ frame.
Another thing to love is the play with texture courtesy of the fried crispy leeks. 🙂 Even the boyfriend agreed that this was A+ despite us having to resort to a knife and fork because there was no way we could squish such a marvelous stack! 😛
Because you can’t keep a man from his bacon, the boyfriend ordered The Piggy during our visit. The patty is described to be a blend of chuck and short rib, which B loved. But of course the ginormous strips of bacon and bacon jam were the ones that really lured him in. This is just as special as The Bleu, but I’m very partial to what I ordered so I still think The Bleu was the better burger between the two. 🙂
We also went in and tried the Nutelloos Milkshake, which is a heavenly blend of Cookie Butter and Nutella. Come on now, how can you resist not ordering this?! 😛 Thick and creamy, this was definitely a win flavor-wise. Then again, I wish it was served in a larger glass. I don’t remember how much this is, but I think it’s more than between 200 and 300 pesos. So there, dear Burger Bar, please serve this in a slightly bigger glass please? 🙂
